🚀 HIT Huatouch Leads Major Project to Break "Bottleneck" in Humanoid Robot Tactile Sensing
Date: March 19, 2026
📅 Event Overview
On March 17, the kick-off meeting for the Hubei Provincial Major Science and Technology Project, "Research and Application of High-Biomimetic Electronic Skin & Cognitive Model Training," was successfully held at Huatouch.
Key officials from provincial and municipal S&T bureaus, along with Chairman Wang Yuhui and CEO Zhu Xiaohui, attended the ceremony.
🛠️ Core Challenges Addressed
The project aims to solve critical "bottlenecks" currently hindering the humanoid robot industry:
Single-mode sensing (limited sensory types).
Difficulties in multi-modal fusion (data integration issues).
Lack of large-scale datasets (missing training data for AI).

🔬 Technical Breakthroughs & Innovation
HIT is leading a high-level consortium (including HUST and the Wuhan Digital Design Innovation Center) to build a "Sensing-Collection-Training" closed-loop system:
High-Biomimetic Electronic Skin: Enabling robots to have human-like touch.
3D Tactile & Proximity Sensing: Breakthroughs in three-dimensional touch and "near-touch" awareness.
Stretchable Materials: Advanced materials for flexible robot surfaces.
Industry-First Data Engine: Establishing the world's first Multi-modal Tactile Data Collection Center to fill the global gap in high-quality data.
🎯 Strategic Goal
"To empower humanoid robots with human-like dexterous manipulation capabilities."
By mastering core components, HIT aims to lay the technical foundation for the large-scale commercial application of humanoid robots and establish Hubei as a global industrial hub for robotics.
